Revving Up 2017

Happy New Year, Friends!

2016 sure did fly by. I enjoyed a wonderful holiday week visiting my daughter in New Jersey. Afterwards, it was my pleasure to play at American Legion Post 79 on New Year’s Eve. The place was hoppin’ packed; all had a great time.

The month of January holds many music events for me, though many are not for public attendance. The private party scene has picked up – NICE!

So, here is the scoop for the next couple weeks. You have local or out of town options:

1. Friday, January 6th – 5:30pm til 8:30pm: I am performing at Prescott Valley Elks Lodge 330 for their Friday Dinner. Huge dance floor and fun people! If you’re up that way, stop in as our guest.

2. Friday, January 6th – 5pm til 8pm: Manzanita Road at the Yarnell Family Diner.

3. Friday, January 13th – 6pm – 9pm: I will play at the Wickenburg Elks Lodge 2160 for their Friday Dinner. Again, you may attend as our guest if you are not a member. Lou will sign you in!

4. Friday, January 13th – 5pm til 8pm: Walt Eckes at the Yarnell Family Diner.

5. Friday, January 20th – 5pm til 8pm: BIRTHDAY NIGHT! Yarnell Family Diner.

Happy January Birthday to:
Carolyn Sands – Jan 2
Diane Tackett – Jan 3
Cliff Dupuy – Jan 10
Barb Schlegel – Jan 17
Mary Skalkoyannis – Jan 24
Rowle Simmons – Yavapai County Board of Supervisors

Important! Not all Birthday Babies are on my email subscription to receive this invitation. I am sure there are more birthdays in January, of which I am not aware.

Spread the word. Birthday night gives free dessert to those with a birthday that month. Also, we do Trivia Questions provided by Leah Tidey. In short, this is a pretty fun night every 3rd Friday.

Last, but certainly not least:

Friday, January 27th – A wonderful musical duo is coming to Yarnell again, to benefit the Yarnell Fire Auxiliary. Acoustic Eidolon will perform at the Yarnell Community Presbyterian Church from 7pm to 9pm. Check them out at www.acousticeidolon.com. Tickets in advance are $15 each or 2 for $25; at the door they are $20 each. Visit the Yarnell Fire Administration building and see me for tickets. Also, Linda Ma and Leah Tidey can provide tickets.

We trust you are all healthy and well, enjoying life to the fullest.

Warm Wishes for the New Year,
Denise & Lou

New In November

Hello, Friends!

Sounds like Yarnell was the place to be for Halloween partying. Facebook will always tell a phenomenal story, evidenced by the videos posted from the Lohrwood Bash….you bunch of crazy witches made me laugh hard!

Okay, well – here’s what’s happening the next couple weeks for your music enjoyment:

1. TONIGHT, November 4th, 5pm-8pm: Fun at the Yarnell Family Diner, with yours truly as the entertainment!
By-the-way, I hate to brag, but I’m so excited to celebrate 5 years of marriage with my hubby on Saturday the 5th. When we got married, he promised me an adventure. So we moved to Yarnell, and experienced 2 wildfires and a flood with all of you. That was a bit over the top as far as adventure. But we couldn’t think of a finer group to share the good and bad with, other than our friends here in Yarnell. Cheers to all of us!

2. Friday, November 11th – Veteran’s Day. Don’t forget to thank a Vet for his or her service! One of those to whom we are grateful, Walt Eckes, will bring you the entertainment that night at the Yarnell Family Diner, 5pm – 8pm

3. Also, Friday, November 11th – Wickenburg Elks Lodge 2160, I will be playing 5:30 – 8:30. That’s a place that loves to dance, if you’re in the area, you can be our guest. Dinner is served beginning at 5pm, restaurant style, and there usually two choices for a reasonable price.

4. Friday, November 18th – It’s 3rd Friday Birthday Night! I have no idea why time is moving so darn quickly….it’s almost the end of another year.! And another Happy Birthday to:
Marsha Lohr – Nov 7th
Arlon Rice – Nov 11th
Amber Winther – Nov 13th
Sarah Garner – Nov 17th
Connie Cullen – Nov 18th
Billy Shirling – Nov 19th
Shannon Smith – Nov 20th
Vicki Velasquez – Nov 22nd
Craig Lohr – Nov 25th
Mary Carruthers – Nov 26th

5. Thursday, November 24th – We wish you that happiest Thanksgiving Day. FYI, Yarnell’s American Legion Post 79 is hosting a free Community Appreciation Thanksgiving Dinner from 12noon until 4pm.

6. Friday, November 25th, Manzanita Road brings the songs for your Yarnell Family Diner experience!

I had such a busy October, with a total of 17 Music Gigs between regular and private events. It was amazing; this month is a welcome slow-down, easing me into Holiday mode. Whew! Made it through October.

As always, we musicians are grateful for your continued support of our “artistic” renderings. It means more to us than you realize. There is nothing worse than playing to an empty room. When you show up, smile and tap your foot or dance, it makes our day. Thank you!

See you soon,
Denise
